when starting as a fresh faced adventurer, mattonious was one who would boisterously accept any challenge, eager to face any foe, consequences be damned, so long as it meant gaining fame and glory.growing closer with the scions, that selfish goal slowly eked away, changing instead to doing whatever it took to protect his new found friends. this lead to him forcing himself to be discreet about his more emotional side, not wanting to appear 'weak' to those looking up to him for support.for a long while, he did real well putting on the façade of a cocky hero. with Haurchefaunt and Ysale's sacrifices - the grim realization that those who fight with and for him cannot always cheat death - he swore to himself he'd be more honest and open about showing his heartbreak, his resentment, his trepidation.he still maintains his penchant for the dramatics, always choosing flair over practicality. he's also grown far more audacious in making advances towards other men.
